As a result of his success as a coal millionaire, Gautam Adani has become the world’s 5th wealthiest person. Adani Group chairman, 59, has surpassed businessman Warren Buffett ($121.9 billion) in the Forbes real-time wealthiest people listing, boosting his total wealth to $122.2 billion, in accordance with the Forbes real-time richest individuals’ listing.
India’s Adani Group is the country’s biggest privately owned thermal coal manufacturer and dealer, with a market capitalisation of $16 billion. It is also the country’s largest port operator by revenue. According to Forbes, Adani is one of only four people on the planet wealthier than the Indian industrialist. The acquisition of this latest asset has propelled Adani over the top of fellow Indian Mukesh Ambani in the battle of fortunes. Adani made his debut on the Forbes list of the world’s centi-billionaires just a few days before the end of the month.
As assessed by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, his overall net worth has climbed to $105 billion, compared to Anil Ambani’s total net worth of $100 billion.
