WhatsApp is all set to provide upgraded features to its wide customer base. It has added the ability to respond to a text with an emoji. You can now share files up to 2GB, which is great progress from being able to just share 100MB files. Meta, the firm operating WhatsApp, had announced in the previous month that these features would be added soon. And now the task seems to be done.
Meta had announced on Thursday about doubling the upper limit of the extent of group chats. When the reactions were being announced, Meta said that only some features would be functional for now. But the ‘all skin tones and emojis’ will definitely be added later.
Even apps such as Telegram and Slack have incorporated these reactions for the past some time. The purpose behind this was to not over-clog the group chats and to be able to express the feeling that you experienced, all through just an emoji. The maximum size default of group chats is to be doubled as well, for this very reason, with the cap jumping from 256 to 512.
WhatsApp notes that wider formed groups are gradually being rolled out, whereas emoji reactions along with amplified file sizes are being implemented in the present version of WhatsApp. Vispi Bhopti, the spokesperson for Meta, remarked that the firm is anticipating the reactions to roll out to everybody within a week’s time. He also mentioned that a few users have already got the feature.
