AI Rudder Raised $50m Round From Tiger Global & Sequoia

Tiger Global, Huashan Capital, and Sequoia Capital India, have invested $50 million in AI Rudder, a Singapore-based AI business. Among the other participants in AI Rudder’s most recent round are VenturesLab, First Plus, Cathay Innovation and Coatue.

AI Rudder, founded in 2019 by Teng Ren and Kun Wu, delivers voice-based AI solutions for B2C interactions. It supports over 15 languages, including Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Tagalog, Hindi and English just to mention a few.

The business claimed in a statement that sales increased by 5x in the previous year. Its platform is being used by 200 businesses across a variety of industries, including banking, finance, and ecommerce.

The new funding will be used to boost AI Rudder’s workforce to roughly 300 workers and expand its client base. To entice more customers, it also plans to include Arabic, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, German, French and Cantonese.

It plans to offer new features including multi factor authentication and integrations with customer relationship management solutions in the near future.

The company secured $10 million in a series A fundraising round headed by Sequoia China Seed Fund and Sequoia Capital India in November of last year. AI Rudder has operations in Shanghai and Jakarta in addition to its headquarters in Singapore.
