Nissan and Toyota Launched VR Experiences in the Metaverse

Virtual showrooms and workplace environments have been created by Nissan and Toyota, each with its own unique take on the metaverse.

Utilising the VRChat platform developed by U.S. company VRChat, Nissan has constructed a virtual reality replica of its Nissan Crossing gallery in Tokyo’s affluent Ginza area.

The new Ariya electric car is shown in the virtual reality environment. A virtual globe tour was offered to a select group of guests. The showroom is capable of hosting car debuts and other special occasions.

Toyota has created a virtual workplace in the form of the metaverse for several of its divisions and subsidiaries. Employee avatars may be seen walking about an office environment, participating in meetings, and interacting with one other.

The virtual workspace is now being utilised by the technological development and human resources departments at the parent firm, with plans to extend its usage in the future.

They are offering young workers and others communication alternatives inside the firm because of the increase in individuals working from home as a result of the coronavirus, according to a company spokesperson.

Outside of Japan, German manufacturers Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz Group are using metaverse technology in their products.
