Industry Leaders Praise Singapore's AI Verification Toolkit And Framework

AI verify, which is the governance standard testing toolkit and framework declared by Mrs. Josephine Teo, the  Minister of Communication and Information of Singapore has received a supporting reception from the industry leaders.

The framework has been developed by the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) and Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA). AI verify, is currently a minimum viable product (MVP) and is aimed at owners and developers looking for transparent functioning of their existing AI systems.

AI verification lets users check their claimed AI performance using a set of predetermined principles carried out via a common test.

It contains process checks along with a bunch of open-source solutions for testing. Both of these are contained in a toolkit that allows for easy self-assessment.

The generated report can then be used by business partners, management, and developers for checking and improving the performance of their AI.

According to Teo, AI verification is the pioneer test to showcase safe AI in a verifiable and objective way, and invited industry leaders from across the globe to create and develop a global standard for governance of AI.

More than 10 major companies such as Meta, Google, Microsoft, and Singapore Airlines, among others have already used this test and reported their feedback.

By launching AI verify, Singapore is furthering its commitment taken on the international discourse on AI for governance and ethics.

Singapore has launched a host of AI-related features such as the Model AI governance Framework in 2020 which was followed by the National AI strategy in November 2019.
