For the enterprises using the services of Google Chrome and Chrome OS, many new security features have been announced by Google on Thursday.
Talking about the security features of Chrome OS, Google said that the OS has never been hit by a successful attack by a virus or ransomware. Google has promised to keep improving the security features of Chrome and Chrome OS for various enterprises and its users.
One of the new features introduced by Google includes a collection of plug-and-play integration with third-party identity access, security insights, endpoint management, and reporting products.
With the latest Chrome Enterprise Connector’s Framework, Chrome and Chrome OS will be able to integrate with the products from Okta, Netskope, Samsung, BlackBerry, Splunk, VMware, Palo Alto Networks, and CrowdStrike.
While all these are not available immediately, as per Google, they are coming soon. Integration with Netskope products will allow users to access critical data.
On the same note. IT teams will find it easier to manage their Chrome OS devices after integration with Samsung and BlackBerry products. Integration with Splunk will be helpful in identifying events that are potentially risky.
Chrome OS Data Controls is another important feature that has been introduced. Organisations can use this feature to prevent data exposure. IT teams of these organisations can decide the triggering controls in case of actions that can potentially result in leakage of data.
Not only these but many hardware security updates have also been announced by Google. More information regarding these new features will come up on June 8 – called Chrome Enterprise Day by Google.
