Cybersecurity Firm Acronis To Invest $50 Million In Vietnam

Acronis, which is a cybersecurity firm headquartered in Switzerland and Singapore, has plans to invest $50 million in Vietnam over the course of the coming few years. It also plans to open a local office along with an R&D centre by next year.

Serguei Beloussov, the founder and CEO of the cybersecurity unicorn, made his first working trip to Vietnam last month. He told reporters that his company would hire engineers as well as talented individuals across all verticals like marketing, sales, and data operations, not to mention cybersecurity from Vietnam.

The released press statement revealed that the Vietnam branch would work in close tandem with Acronis’s R&D centres in Singapore and Bulgaria in developing “cutting edge cyber protection solutions” for the company. While the location of the office in Vietnam has not yet been finalised, it is likely to be in the capital, Ho Chi Minh City.

Acronis was founded back in 2003, and it specialises in the protection, backup, disaster recovery, as well as enterprise file sharing, and file syncing. It has over 50,000 partners and service providers in more than 150 countries. It has raised over $400 million and has a valuation of $2.5 billion.

According to Beloussov, his firm invests in those companies which have the potential to reach $100 million in global revenues in a time period of fewer than 10 years. He gives priority to the companies that deal with fintech, cybersecurity, and deeptech services, along with companies that are developing software for science and education.
