For the first time, as per a Bloomberg report, China is going to introduce digital yuan in advance of the Winter Olympic Games, in order to test the international appeal of this virtual currency.
The visitors can draw on the digital currency through a card or an app which stores the yuan. The coaches and players, on the other hand, can get themselves the wristbands that work as e-wallets as well for payments.
Renminbi cash, Visa cards, and digital yuan will be the only payment methods accepted at the games.
A batch of Republican senators, in July, had warned the US athletes not in favour of the usage of this digital yuan due to certain privacy concerns.
