The city of Whanganui in New Zealand has unveiled a new app known as Talent Connect, which will allow job candidates to “swipe right” for companies with whom they wish to communicate. According to Lou Tyson Walker, strategic lead capability, the matchmaking app is comparable to the popular dating app Tinder, only it is for companies and individuals looking for work.
Whanganui & Partners created the app, which is supported by the district council and is only available to Whanganui professionals.
On their website, Whanganui & Partners explained that Talent Connect is meant to be skills-based, meaning you may locate prospective connections and opportunities based on the capabilities you need or have to give.
Employers may use Talent Connect to identify the individuals they need in a certain post in the same way that candidates can.
If you own a business and need someone to assist you with a minor job or if you need to hire some help, this is the app for you. If you have abilities to offer the business world, this app can link you with those who are searching for such skills.
Employers may use the app to search for a broader pool of people with marketing experience rather than simply “marketers.”
For example, you could discover that there is an event organiser that has expertise with social media campaigns and might be a better fit for the project.
To use Talent Connect, start by downloading the app on your Android or iPhone device. Next, set up your personal profile so businesses and other professionals can know more about you, your skills and work experience. Remember to indicate whether you’re just expanding your network, or looking for a job. Finally, start swiping just like you do on dating apps. A user can also opt-out of the swipe feature if they’re searching for a specific job.
