Mark Zuckerberg Demonstrates A Voice-Controlled Bot For Building Virtual Worlds

The demo video shows Meta CEO Zuckerberg using the system to build oceans, beaches, islands, and even trees and a picnic basket, all inside the Metaverse.

Facebook, now renamed as Meta, recently launched a new AI prototype system called the ‘Builder Bot’ featuring Mark Zuckerberg. It allows users of the Metaverse to build objects or even import them from other platforms through voice commands. A demo video of the Builder Bot has been released by Meta, and they claim right now it is in its exploratory stage.

Currently, the Builder Bot is capable of creating both macro and micro-objects through voice commands. The demo video released by Builder Labs shows Meta CEO Zuckerberg using the system to build oceans, beaches, islands, and even trees and a picnic basket, all inside the Metaverse. Once the system is complete it can be used to truly channel creativity in the Metaverse, claims the CEO.

As of now, the Builder Bot is an entry-level tool at best. It is able to create structures based on voice commands, but, it can not create complex 3D environments. It can definitely be used to teach new users how the Metaverse operates, but beyond that its functionality is limited. If scalable, it will be in use by every VR platform developer, but that remains to be seen. It is also important to note that the Metaverse itself has not yet been officially launched; hence the developmental stage may take some more time as no technical details are available.

Meta is unveiling a lot of new AI systems that will be part of its VR space. These include chatbots, speech translators, card tools, etc. Meta has been pouring enormous amounts of funds in order to get this project off the ground and to bring investors into the process as well. Other VR platforms such as Roblox have also started to enter the foray of voice-controlled features.
