Alphabet And Google To Setup A Quantum Company After “Time Crystal” Invention

Last year there was a big breakthrough in quantum physics by Google and Alphabet. They invented what is being called a ‘Time Crystal’, a form of new quantum computer that allows for endless energy transmissions among other things. Theoretically, this could give birth to a new form of computation that would make all the supercomputers on Earth look meagre in comparison.

Quantum computing, until recently, was mostly considered science fiction. While a lot of companies pour a lot of resources into their quantum R&D, no working advantage of the technology has ever been witnessed. Now, it’s all set to change with Google and Alphabet’s joint venture!

Alphabet, as part of its Moonshot venture program, will be rolling out Sandbox Technology Inc. The industry trend would usually mean the tech giant, Google, makes Sandbox a part of it. However, it will exist as a separate partner entity. This is quite rare in the case of a new-tech startup. It is expected that Sandbox will be releasing more projects and raising funds as well.

It is as of now not sure whether Sandbox will only be working towards launching the world’s first quantum computer, or if they will continue research projects as well. Alphabet would surely not have announced Sandbox unless it had something solid up its sleeve. However, we will have to wait till the official announcements decide. Some official research papers have been released by Google regarding the workability of the technology; they are yet to be peer-reviewed.

Last year was a big leap for quantum research with the invention of time crystals. However, unless a solid workable plan is achieved, the technology is still not even in the beta phase. So, the hype may not live up to the release!
